Rubix continues to extend its engineering services offer in the UK with the acquisition of Midlands-based Deritend.

With sales of more than €12m, Deritend is one of the UK’s longest established and leading providers of engineering repair and replacement solutions, covering a range of specialist product areas including electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, electronic controls and induction equipment.

Established in 1898, the business has built an enviable reputation in optimising asset performance, providing condition monitoring and fabrication services and maintenance solutions 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Deritend’s team of over 100 engineering professionals serves more than 3,500 customers in the UK across all manufacturing sectors. In addition, the business offers specific expertise in serving the needs of the water treatment, food & beverage, energy, and automotive sectors.

With engineering centres in West Bromwich (the site of the business HQ), Luton and Middlesbrough, its geographic footprint is the perfect complement to Rubix’s existing sites and ensures that Rubix can offer locally convenient nationwide coverage to its engineering services customers.

Deritend’s CEO, Richard Hale, will continue to lead the business as it transitions into the Rubix Group and will report to Peter Burrows, MD Engineering Services Division for Rubix in the UK.
